Welcome to Carmarthen Artists' Network (CAN) catalogue

We hope you enjoy browsing through the pages of the recent work created by various members of the Carmarthen Artists' Network.

Who are we?
Carmarthen Artists' Network is a supportive group run by and for recent fine art graduates. CAN aims to provide an artistic platform for emerging artists living in rural West Wales. Currently CAN has 32 members who have a large multi-disciplinary skills base.

Why join CAN?
Carmarthen Artists' Network was set up by Sian Swann in 2011 to offer encouragement to artists who want to develop and maintain their artistic practice within a supportive group atmosphere. Carmarthen Artists' Network creates opportunities for artists to come together to extend and share skills. Members exchange ideas, receive critiques, technical advice and help from within the group. CAN aims to organise two group exhibitions per year. We meet fortnightly on Monday afternoons at Oriel Myrddin, Carmarthen.

What does CAN do?
Carmarthen Artists' Network organises practical workshops to help keep creative ideas bubbling and to develop expertise. In 2013 an Arts Council of Wales grant enabled CAN to invite speakers from outside agencies to discuss artists' business and marketing skills with members, the wider artistic community and the local art college. This funding also contributed to the creation of CAN's on-line catalogue

Through links with the local art college, regional and private galleries information is disseminated to and from Carmarthen Artists' Network members via email.

Carmarthen Artists' Network has group exhibitions which are organised by Viv Albiston. CAN exhibitions display a range of artistic techniques, which have been so well received that Carmarthen Artists' Network now has repeat invitations to galleries. The contacts made within the Carmarthen Artists' Network allow for smaller groups to develop their own exhibitions too.
