In Memory, Silver Gelatin Photograph

I am a Lens-based artist, who uses film and photography to visually communicate my personal thoughts and feelings, and explore the world around me. Having spent my childhood in Ireland, and the last 20 years in Wales, I have always been surrounded by beautiful countryside with a rich history of myth, magic and legend. This Celtic land has undoubtedly shaped me in to the person I am today; it has fed my imagination, nurtured my creativity, given me room to breathe and the freedom to grow. My emotional connection to the landscape is heavily evident within my work, continually drawing me back to explore notions of memory, place and belonging.

Rwyf yn artist sy'n seiliedig ar-Lens, sy'n defnyddio ffilm a ffotograffiaeth i weledol gyfathrebu fy meddyliau a theimladau personol, ac archwilio'r byd o fy nghwmpas. Wedi treulio fy mhlentyndod yn Iwerddon, ac y 20 mlynedd diwethaf yng Nghymru, yr wyf bob amser wedi ei amgylchynu gan gefn gwlad prydferth sydd â hanes cyfoethog o chwedl, hud a chwedloniaeth. Mae'r tir hwn Celtic ddi-os wedi llunio mi i mewn i'r person ydw i heddiw; mae wedi bwydo fy nychymyg, meithrin fy creadigrwydd, o ystyried lle i anadlu a'r rhyddid i dyfu mi. Fy gysylltiad emosiynol i'r tirwedd yn amlwg iawn o fewn fy ngwaith, gan dynnu i mi yn barhaus yn ôl i archwilio syniadau o gof, lle a pherthyn.
